History and lore of the Coos County fair & rodeo!
Since its beginning in 1912, the Fair has become the main event of the summer for Coos County residents. It is a countywide showcase of agriculture, crafts, industry and business. The Fair provides the opportunity for all ages to exhibit their livestock, floral, land products, culinary, needlework, photography, arts and crafts.
This year the Fair offers many old favorites and some exciting new features. There will be train service to get you around the fairgrounds and shuttle bus service from local communities. Butler Amusements is back again this year with popular attractions like the Giant Wheel, the Super Shot Drop Tower and a brand new ride called The Viper! There is a new exhibit of Babies and Ladies in Waiting Birthing Center with the petting zoo close by. For more exotic animal experiences, Brad's World of Reptiles and Live Stingray Encounters will also be on the fairgrounds. Award winning chain saw carver Chris Foltz will be doing daily demonstrations.
Community days are featured this year, with each city invited to share its talents and features. Our day sponsor businesses will each offer discount coupons. Come and enjoy your 2008 Coos County Fair & Rodeo. Plan to spend the day or the whole week at the Fair!
